Development Permits
A development permit may be required for a number of different things; whether you want to build a new house, change the use of an existing building, or construct a shop, etc. Any Accessory Building or Structure (shed, shop, gazebo) 107.6 sq. ft. or larger, whether on skids or not, requires development permit approval. Prior to any groundwork or construction, a development permit must be approved and, in most cases, approvals under the Safety Codes Act of Alberta must also be obtained. The County Webmap can be used to plan your development and use your aerial photo for the site plan. For more information on the development permit process, see application requirements, below, or view our FAQs page.
